Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his criticism of the current administration, vowing to continue exposing what he termed as widespread corruption, mismanagement of public resources, and systemic injustices.
Speaking at Malaba Shopping Centre in Juja Constituency, Kiambu County, Gachagua said that he and his allies would not relent in calling out alleged wrongdoing within government ranks.
“We shall not tire in exposing lies, looting, corruption, callousness, and other injustices perpetuated by this regime,” he said, drawing applause from sections of the crowd.
The former deputy president warned that those implicated in the alleged misuse of public funds would ultimately be held accountable, suggesting that a political and legal reckoning was imminent.
“There will be no escape route for those mismanaging our public funds, as their time is drawing near,” Gachagua said.
Although he did not cite specific cases or individuals, his statements add to growing pressure on the government from critics demanding greater transparency and fiscal discipline.
Following his impeachment from the position of Deputy President, Gachagua has formed his own party, the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) and has since been working with the United Opposition.
He has also become one of the strongest and most vocal critics of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking during an interview on Ramogi TV in March, the former Deputy President said he has no regrets over the statements.
“I have no apology to give to anybody,” Gachagua said.
“I described what I see, and I will continue speaking truthfully.”
His remarks come amid a growing public exchange between the two leaders, marking one of the sharpest political disagreements since his exit from government.
Gachagua defended his position when asked whether his statements could be seen as disrespectful or contrary to leadership expectations, saying he found no issue with what he said.
“There is no apology to make,” he reiterated.
Gachagua has also become a critic of leaders allied to President William Ruto, the most recent one being Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
