KVF selects eight men, women for beach LA 2028 qualifiers

Releasing the list of selected players on Monday, KVF stated that "the teams are expected to begin preparations as they target qualification on the road to the LA 2028 Olympics."

Kenya Volleyball Federation ( KVF ) has released to media names of eight men and women apiece, selected for their respective national teams that will battle it out for the qualifications of the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics Games in Burundi.

Releasing the list of selected players on Monday, KVF stated that "the teams are expected to begin preparations as they target qualification on the road to the LA 2028 Olympics."

The 2026 beach Pro tour- futures Bujumbura is scheduled for August 19-23 this year, at the Eden Garden Resort on Lake Tanganyika, a pathway for beach volleyball qualification for the LA 2028 Summer Olympics Games, USA.

Ladies national team head coach Sila Makiso, assisted by Sammy Mulinge of APR Rwanda have settled on Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and Malkia Strikers' Leonida Kasaya, who will be making her debut for the beach games, an unfamiliar territory as she hopes to make a mark alongside club teammate Sharon Jepkogei and Vallary Jemutai, a trio from KPC.

Greece based Veronica Adhiambo has also been included in the final list, together with Selina Ngambo from Ashton, Jemima Siang’u (DCI), Sharlene Sembel (KCB) and Pauline Itoo (KPR).

Former beach volleyball player stalwart Gaudencia Makokha, will be assisting Patrick Owino to coach the men, a duo that have handed national league club debutants Chema's Joseph Muliro, a beach national team debut.

Others are Richard Amutalla (Mombasa Bamburi), Elphas Makuto (Police Rwanda), Naftali Chumba, Anthony Chimanyi (KDF, Sammy Momanyi (Mombasa), Elisha Siret (Equity) and Reagan Kipchirchir (Cheptil).

While Kenya has already started it's early preparations , with all intentions being to qualify for the Summer Olympics Games in the USA, there is still a full.list of competing nations for the 2026 Africa zone qualifiers that is pending, even though, Kenya will join Rwanda, Nigeria, Gambia and Egypt, countries that have already confirmed their ticket to Burundi.
