Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen named Benjamin Kuttoh to the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) Board for a three-year term starting January 30, 2026.

The appointment, made under Section 6(1)(h) of the NACADA Act, will see Kuttoh contribute to national strategies aimed at tackling alcohol and substance abuse.

In defence, Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, acting through the Defence Council, appointed a team of retired military officers to the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans under the Military Veterans Act (Cap. 199A). Brig. (Rtd.) Isaac Muchendu and Brig. (Rtd.) Hosea Oduor were named under paragraph 2(b), while Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Esther Njombo, Capt. (Rtd.) Nelson Oditypo, WO I (Rtd.) Ashford Miriti Ndubi, WO I (Rtd.) Joseph Muindi, WO II (Rtd.) Rebecca Cheserem, and Sgt. (Rtd.) Rehema Said were appointed under paragraph 2(c). Their one-year term begins on April 2, 2026.

At the National Treasury, Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi renewed the three-year terms of Anne Rimbaine Lengerded and Joseph Kipkemboi Ngetich on the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation Board, effective January 30, 2026.

Mbadi also reappointed James Akali to the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority Board for a similar period.

Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and MSME Development Wycliffe Oparanya appointed George Gathogo to the Board of the Financial Inclusion Fund, also for a three-year term starting January 30, 2026. The fund focuses on widening access to affordable credit for small and micro enterprises across the country.

Education sector appointments were announced by Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, who made several council changes. Prof. Kenneth Maena joined the Tom Mboya University Council, while Allan Mugambi Michael’s appointment to Murang’a University of Technology was revoked.

Joseph Tuikong moved from the Open University of Kenya Council to the Council of Koitaleel Samoei University College for a three-year term. At the same time, Stella Oyiego and Hamadi Musa Garashi were removed from Machakos University Council, and Ronald Musengi, Jacob Gitau, and Joseph Nyotumba were named to the Eldoret National Polytechnic Council.

In the health sector, Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale appointed Patrisio Njeru to the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Public Health Institute for a three-year term, effective January 30, 2026.

These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing focus on enhancing institutional governance, building strong leadership teams, and aligning management with the country’s development priorities.
