Kanjama beats Wanyama to clinch LSK presidential seat

Seasoned lawyer SC Charles Kanjama is the new President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) following a closely contested election.

Kanjama secured the top seat after garnering 3,728 votes.

Peter Wanyama finished second with 2,616 votes, while Mwaura Kabata came third after receiving 2,086 votes.

With over two decades of experience in the legal profession, Kanjama now joins the 2026–2028 LSK Council, bringing extensive expertise to the role.

He succeeds Faith Odhiambo, who has been serving as the president of the lawyers’ body.

Odhiambo, in a message on her social media pages sent a congratulatory message to her successor.

"I convey hearty congratulations to @ckanjama SC on his resounding win in today's Election to become the 52nd President of the @LawSocietyofKe," Odhiambo said.

"His record of dutiful service to society and contributions to the development of governance in Kenya make him a worthy torchbearer of the LSK's vision and mandate."
