Kenyan Embassy in Kuwait urges citizens to register amid Gulf crisis

The advisory was issued shortly after President William Ruto strongly condemned the rising wave of attacks across the Middle East, warning that the spread of the conflict to more countries threatens global peace and stability.

The Kenyan Embassy in Kuwait has urged Kenyans living in Kuwait, Bahrain and Lebanon to register with the mission as tensions and armed exchanges continue to spread across parts of the Middle East.

In a notice shared on its official X account on Monday, March 2, 2026, the Embassy, which is also accredited to Bahrain and Lebanon, asked citizens in the three countries to submit their details through a registration link provided by the Government of Kenya. The appeal comes amid a fast-changing security situation in the Gulf region.

“Registration of Kenyans in Kuwait, Bahrain and Lebanon. We kindly request Kenyans residing in Kuwait, Bahrain and Lebanon to register with the Embassy/GoK using the link,” the Embassy said.

The advisory was issued shortly after President William Ruto strongly condemned the rising wave of attacks across the Middle East, warning that the spread of the conflict to more countries threatens global peace and stability.

In a statement posted on his official social media pages on Monday, March 2, 2026, Ruto criticised strikes reported in several Gulf and regional states, naming the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain.

“Kenya strongly condemns the strikes on the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain in the evolving conflict in the Middle East. It is evident that the regionalisation of this conflict poses a grave threat to international peace and security,” Ruto stated.

He stressed that global institutions must take the lead in addressing the crisis, saying international frameworks remain key in handling such tensions.

“At this defining and perilous moment in global history, longstanding multilateral institutions remain indispensable frameworks for the resolution of the current crisis in the Middle East,” the statement read.

Kenya also pushed for immediate talks involving different players to calm the situation and prevent further fighting.

“Kenya calls for urgent multi-stakeholder engagement towards de-escalation,” Ruto added.

The developments follow reports of more explosions in parts of the Gulf, with at least three people reported dead in the United Arab Emirates. The attacks are said to be part of retaliatory action by Iran after strikes by the United States and Israel that killed its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with other senior officials.
