“We do not want conflict in Kenya, nor dirty politics of tribalism. We want to unite and be one,” he said.

Ruto reminded citizens that they hold the power to elect leaders at all levels, including Members of County Assembly, Members of Parliament, Senators, Governors and the President, urging them to make informed choices based on performance and service delivery rather than personality or attitude.

“When you choose a leader, do you choose work or appearance, work or arrogance?” he asked.

On his administration’s achievements, Ruto said major gains have been made in key sectors. In education, he noted that 100,000 teachers have been recruited over the past three years to improve learning outcomes across the country.

In agriculture, he said fertiliser prices have been reduced to ease pressure on farmers, while coffee prices have been increased to improve earnings for growers.

On healthcare, he highlighted the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA) as a key reform aimed at expanding access to medical services. He said 274,000 residents in Murang’a have already registered under the new system.

“We promised a new healthcare system; today, we have SHA,” he said.

The President also outlined ongoing and planned development projects in Murang’a, including infrastructure, energy and markets aimed at boosting local economies and improving living standards.

He reaffirmed his commitment to complete stalled projects, especially the Sh30 billion Mau Mau road, which spans 540 kilometres from Kiambu through Murang’a and Nyandarua to Nyeri and has been delayed since 2022 due to funding challenges.

“We must ensure that the Mau Mau road project does not stop until it is fully completed,” he said.

Ruto further announced that Sh1.1 billion has been set aside for electricity connectivity in 2026, targeting at least 1,104 new households. He noted that 1,307 homes have already been connected in the last three years.

“We want to make sure every citizen has electricity in their home,” he said.

During the tour, he also launched the Sh896 million Kiriko-Kagumo-ini-Gitugi-Chui-Karugia road, saying the project is part of efforts to open up rural areas and support economic activity.

In addition, Ruto said 23 modern markets are under construction across Murang’a at a cost of Sh2.5 billion, including facilities in Kagumo-ini and Gikoe, aimed at improving trade conditions for small businesses.
