According to the advisory, spectators must comply with directions given by rally marshals and security personnel deployed along the stages. Fans have also been asked to watch the event only from officially marked spectator sections.

The government has barred the operation of drones in certain parts of Naivasha and nearby areas during the WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2026, as authorities roll out safety rules aimed at protecting spectators and ensuring order during the global motorsport event.

The directive was issued by the Ministry of Interior and National Administration on Friday through a spectator safety advisory released ahead of the rally. The ministry said drones will not be allowed within designated zones during the competition and urged members of the public planning to attend the rally to observe all safety instructions.

Officials said the guidelines are intended to guide thousands of fans expected to gather along rally stages and help reduce risks during the high-speed races.

According to the advisory, spectators must comply with directions given by rally marshals and security personnel deployed along the stages. Fans have also been asked to watch the event only from officially marked spectator sections.

Authorities further urged those attending the rally to get to the stages early because roads leading to the competition areas will be closed before the race begins.

The ministry also reminded fans to keep a safe distance from the rally road and ensure their vehicles are parked only in authorised parking locations.

People attending the event have also been encouraged to plan ahead by carrying water, wearing comfortable shoes and protecting themselves from the sun during the outdoor competition.

The advisory also calls on spectators to dispose of litter responsibly and avoid activities that could damage the environment. Respect for residents and property in host communities has also been emphasised.

At the same time, the ministry outlined several actions that will not be allowed during the rally.

Spectators have been warned not to step onto the rally road or attempt to cross it when a stage is ongoing. Entering restricted sections of the rally route has also been prohibited.

The advisory also states that access roads must remain clear at all times to allow emergency vehicles to move quickly if needed.

In addition, the ministry cautioned against the use of unauthorised drones and flash photography near rally cars during the race.

Lighting fires, causing environmental damage or engaging in unruly conduct during the rally will also not be tolerated, according to the advisory.

Authorities have urged spectators to familiarise themselves with the safety guidelines and play their part in ensuring the rally runs safely and smoothly.
