Speaking during a church service at the ACK Diocese in Kapsabet, Nandi County, on Sunday, Kindiki said the President has gone to great lengths to ensure all regions are included in the government’s development plans.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged political leaders to exercise restraint in their public statements, warning that reckless remarks risk undermining the national unity efforts spearheaded by President William Ruto.

Speaking during a church service at the ACK Diocese in Kapsabet, Nandi County, on Sunday, Kindiki said the President has gone to great lengths to ensure all regions are included in the government’s development plans.

He emphasised that such efforts deserve support rather than disruption.

“The President has ensured a united country. He has made sure every part of the country is wholly included in the government’s development agenda without discriminating against any for their political, religious or regional affiliations,” the DP said.

Kindiki called on leaders across the political divide to complement the President’s work for the sake of national cohesion and progress.

“I am requesting all political leaders to be cautious in how they talk so they don’t harm the progress made in bringing the country together,” he added.

The Deputy President highlighted ongoing projects across the country—including in Nandi County—as evidence of the administration’s commitment to equitable development.

He noted that these projects are moving forward after what he termed the stabilization of the economy.

He urged leaders not to lose sight of the government’s development priorities as the country heads toward the next election cycle.

“We remain focused on doing the right thing, building our country, accounting for our time in office, and supporting our President who is the vision carrier of our country’s unity. We must support him to deliver, and everything else will fall in place in the days to come,” he said.

Kindiki reiterated that Nandi County has benefitted from investments in roads, markets, and affordable housing, and assured residents that the government remains committed to fulfilling all pledges made by the President.

As Ruto’s principal assistant, he said he is working closely with Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries to ensure full implementation of presidential directives.

“We are rolling out a robust development programme on roads, electricity, and markets. As the DP, I am working with the CSs and PSs to ensure the President’s directives are implemented. I will follow up all the promises and ensure they are implemented in Nandi County and everywhere in this country,” he stated.

Turning to agricultural reforms, Kindiki said government interventions have begun to yield results, including improved earnings for sugar, coffee, and other farmers.

He acknowledged concerns over low tea bonuses this year and said he has been tasked by the President to address the issue.

“We will find a lasting solution to the low tea bonuses. I will hold a meeting with leaders from the West of Rift to find a solution to this issue,” he said.
