Wiper’s Antony Kisoi wins Mumbuni North ward securing 3,849 votes

Kisoi outpaced his closest rival, Harrison Wambua of the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) Party, who received 2,766 votes. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) also reported that UDA candidate Misi Mutua came third with 809 votes.

The declaration of the results sparked scenes of jubilation across Mumbuni North, as Wiper supporters filled the streets, waving party colors and celebrating their triumph. Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, present during the counting, joined the celebrations, leading chants and congratulating Kisoi on his win.

“This is a great day for Wiper and for the people of Mumbuni North,” said Governor Ndeti, adding, “We have shown that the people trust leaders who prioritize their welfare.” The victory is expected to reinforce Wiper’s influence in the county and shape political dynamics ahead of future contests.

The IEBC confirmed that the by-election was conducted peacefully, and voter turnout reflected a strong engagement from the local community. Kisoi’s win marks another success for Wiper in a region where the party has consistently maintained a loyal base.
