The event brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, business leaders, and youth from across the county.

The Young Entrepreneurs Summit 2026, a gathering aimed at empowering young innovators and changemakers under the theme “Own Your Story” was held at the Center of Innovation of Garissa University.

The Acting Director for Gender and Social Services, Zeitun Aden, officiated the event as the Chief Guest.

The event made Garissa County a preferred destination for Tourism, Trade, and a leader in Enterprise development.

Zeitun Aden said the theme was very powerful.

“It encourages young people to embrace their journeys—their struggles, ideas, and ambitions—and turn them into opportunities. Every entrepreneur starts with a story. When youth own their story, they build confidence and resilience, which are key in business and in life,” she said.

The event brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, business leaders, and youth from across the county. They also shared ideas, built networks, and inspired the next generation of enterprise leaders during the conference.

Participants engaged in discussions on innovation, resilience, and the power of personal branding in shaping successful ventures.

Through partnerships, training programs, and support initiatives, we aim to create an enabling environment where youth can thrive in business and leadership.

The summit aimed to provide a platform for young people to learn, connect, and gain practical insights into turning their ideas into sustainable businesses.

“Youth form the majority of our population. If we empower them economically, we strengthen families and the entire community,” said the Acting Director for Gender and Social Services.

She said entrepreneurship creates jobs, reduces dependency, and promotes innovation.

“It is one of the strongest tools we have to address unemployment and social challenges,” she added.

The forum spotlighted local success stories and encouraged youth to take charge of their journeys.
