Ruto re-appoints and names new leaders to strengthen key State Boards

In the latest appointments, Bishop Stephen Mairori has been re-appointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse for a three-year term starting January 20, 2026.

The authority is mandated with coordinating national efforts to prevent alcohol and drug misuse across Kenya.

Similarly, Walter Nyambati has been re-appointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Geothermal Development Company for three years, effective from January 9, 2026.

The company plays a vital role in harnessing Kenya’s geothermal resources to expand electricity generation and support sustainable energy initiatives.

In a separate move, Joseph Ogendo was appointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Trade Network Agency Board, taking office from January 9, 2026, until May 25, 2026.

The agency oversees the electronic procurement system for government transactions, aiming to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public procurement.

The President also appointed Dennis Mwirigi as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency Board for a three-year term beginning January 9, 2026.

The agency is tasked with promoting Kenyan products internationally, enhancing the country’s trade profile, and supporting local manufacturers and exporters.

Additionally, Daniel Chemno was re-appointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union Board for three years, effective February 10, 2026.

The union plays a crucial role in supporting the welfare of planters, facilitating market access, and strengthening cooperative structures.
