The party emphasized its readiness to work with other like-minded formations to build a strong, united, and people-centered alternative for Kenya.

The Jubilee Party has announced full support for the United Opposition movement following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting chaired by Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta at the party headquarters in Nairobi on Thursday.

In a statement issued after the meeting, the NEC made a series of key resolutions aimed at revitalizing the party’s leadership and strengthening its national presence.

Among the decisions was the appointment of new officials to fill vacant positions within the party’s top leadership.

Fred Matiang’i was named Deputy Party Leader, Kagwe Gichohi as Executive Director, Ekomwa James Lomenen as Senate Whip, and Hon. Samwel Arama as National Assembly Party Whip.

The committee also endorsed a nationwide membership mobilization campaign to rebuild the party’s grassroots networks and boost public confidence.

The initiative is part of a broader plan to revamp and re-energize Jubilee ahead of the next political cycle, the statement said.

In a significant political move, the NEC unanimously accepted the formal application of Fred Matiang’i to be the Jubilee Party’s presidential candidate.

The former Cabinet Secretary was also nominated to represent Jubilee within the United Opposition Movement, where he is expected to advance a message of progressive leadership, integrity, and national unity.

Jubilee further pledged to officially notify the United Opposition leadership of Matiang’i’s nomination and reiterated its full commitment to the coalition’s principles and objectives.

The party emphasized its readiness to work with other like-minded formations to build a strong, united, and people-centered alternative for Kenya.

Looking ahead, the NEC reaffirmed Jubilee’s dedication to democratic renewal, institutional strengthening, and participation in shaping Kenya’s political and socio-economic direction. The party said it remains steadfast in advancing peace, inclusivity, and transformative governance for all citizens.

The party conveyed its condolences to the family of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga describing his passing as a national loss.

NEC extended sympathy to Mama Ida Odinga, Rosemary, Junior, Winnie, the ODM fraternity, and Kenyans at large, reaffirming Jubilee’s solidarity with the Odinga family during what it termed a difficult moment of loss.
