The President said the partnership between political leaders under the broad-based framework was built on mutual respect and a commitment to ensure that all parties benefit from the arrangement.

President William Ruto has defended the broad-based government arrangement, saying it is founded on fairness, equality and a shared commitment to deliver tangible outcomes for Kenyans.

Speaking in Siaya, ahead of a planned update on the initiative, the President said the partnership between political leaders under the broad-based framework was built on mutual respect and a commitment to ensure that all parties benefit from the arrangement.

“I did commit that we are going to be fair in our relationship, that it is going to be a relationship of equals, it is going to be a relationship with a win-win outcome,” Ruto said.

The Head of State said the government would soon outline the achievements made under the broad-based framework, noting that the public would receive a detailed briefing on progress made in implementing key reforms.

“We are going to tell citizens what we have achieved as broad-based on Tuesday,” he said.

Ruto also extended an invitation to critics of the initiative to attend the briefing and listen to what the administration has accomplished so far.

“We welcome them; the naysayers, noisemakers and those in between to come listen to us,” he said.

The broad-based government arrangement emerged following political dialogue aimed at easing tensions and fostering cooperation between leaders from different political formations.

The framework has been linked to the implementation of reforms under the 10-point agenda, which focuses on governance, political stability and socio-economic development.

According to the President, the government has already delivered on key commitments outlined in the reform framework.

“We know where we want to take this country, we have executed the 10-point agenda,” Ruto said.

The President’s remarks come amid ongoing political debate over the effectiveness of the broad-based government model, with supporters arguing that it has helped stabilize the political environment and enable progress on national priorities.

Ruto maintained that the government remains focused on its development agenda and will continue engaging Kenyans on the progress being made.

He said the upcoming briefing will provide an opportunity for citizens to evaluate the achievements made under the partnership and understand the direction the country is taking.

The President also emphasized that the broad-based approach was designed to promote inclusivity in governance and ensure that national leadership works collectively toward addressing key challenges facing the country.

Ruto reiterated that the government remains confident in the path it has taken and is ready to publicly account for its performance under the broad-based framework.

“We are going to tell citizens what we have achieved,” he said, signaling the administration’s intention to present its record and vision for the country in the coming days.

This comes even as the committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the 10-Point Agenda and the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report announced it will submit its status report to key stakeholders and the public on March 10, 2026.

The Committee to Oversee the Implementation of the 10-Point Agenda and the NADCO Report (COIN-10) said the report marks a significant milestone following the historic memorandum of understanding signed between the United Democratic Alliance and the Orange Democratic Movement.

The agreement was spearheaded by William Ruto, leader of the United Democratic Alliance and President of Kenya, and the late Raila Odinga, who led the Orange Democratic Movement at the time of the agreement.

The committee said it had diligently carried out its mandate and finalized its status report, which is now ready for submission.

“The committee has remained diligent to its mandate and deliverables. The Status Report is ready for submission,” the statement said.
